At Center DBT Paris (Centre Rive Gauche), we talk aboutsupersensitivity rather than hypersensitivity. We consider the label "hypersensitivity" to imply that there is a problem that needs to be corrected.

 

We think and build ourDBT therapy (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy)through the concept of supersensitivity that highlights this characteristic as a gift that has benefits and raises challenges for the person who experiences it daily.

DBT and DBT-C therapies

DBT therapy is a protocol developed by the American psychologistMarsha Linehan. In France, this therapy is also called "TCD" (Dialectic Behavioral Therapy).

 

This therapy applies to both adolescents and children. For children, we talk about DBT-C therapy(Dialectical Behavioral Therapy-Child). It consists of accompanying children or adolescents to help them develop the tools of emotional regulation.

 

Thanks to the training courses followed by our specialists in DBT-C therapy, DBT Paris (Centre Rive Gauche) is the first and only center to offer this therapy in France.

DBT-C therapy for children

DBT-C therapy is for parents who find themselves having difficulty managing the emotions of their supersensitive child. 

 

This method provides parents and children with a dialectical vision: it is neither good nor bad to have intense emotions.

 

Your child's supersensitivity is a capacity he can understand and deal with.

 

DBT Paris (Centre Rive Gauche) is the only French center specializing in DBT-C therapy.

Note: DBT-C therapy is intended for children 7-12 years old.

DBT therapy for teenagers

DBT therapy is also intended for adolescents (diagnosed, or not supersensitive). It helps them make better decisions in the face of age-specific pressures and stresses.

 

DBT therapy works in groups that aim to develop certain skills through four modules:

  • Mindfulness;

  • crisis management;

  • emotional regulation;

  • Interpersonal effectiveness.

 

It is an approach that accompanies them in their intense emotions to better learn to manage situations of violence, suicide, substance use, eating disorders, and other mental health problems.

Note: Parents can also participate in the modules with their teenager.
